Since downloading and installing Netscape 6.2 I have noticed that it seems to have a significant memory leak. If I leave the browser open for an extended time, I will have a dialog box on the screen that announces that I am low on memory resources and that my PageFile needs to be expanded.

Anyone else noticed such a problem?

    Hi GrayGeek,

I have certainly noticed that Netscape 6 is a resource hog. I ran my Resource Meter with 6.1, 6.2, and 6.2.1, and it definitely showed a significant loss of resources.

This is a known problem to the Netscape Engineers, and they are working on it. I have noted that 6.2.1 is not as hungry as 6.1, with a single window open. However, once you start opening windows, other apps., etc. your resources show significant loss.

    It will get better. :D

Thanks for the response Ramona. I downloaded Netscape after having been away from it for a year or so. I think 4.X was the last time I messed with it. I hate to say it, but I don't think it has fared well by being sucked up into the Time Warner/AOL mess. Opera 6 is a much more stable implementation of Java technology.....

But thanks again for keeping me posted.
