    Hi
When I include any Netscape mail emoticon in my mail, and a receipient uses Outlook Express, that emoticon is displayed in OE just as regular ASCII symbol, like this :)
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Broni,

I seem to be having the same problem. I posted a question under "Smiley Faces" and received no responses.

Is it possible that you and I are the only ones with this problem? Since it is NOT an earth shattering problem I guess I will just live with it.

I guess, you don't know, until your receipient tells you.
Ramona promised me to look into it, so lets wait.
I did some research myself, but couldn't find nothing on it.
It must be something with OE not being able to translate ASCII characters into emoticons. Maybe OE just doesn't have such capability.

...and it must be a case, since I just found THIS PAGE , which offers free OE plugin, OE-QuoteFix, which offers:
Oh well IE/OE is an really ancient tool....LOL

    Broni,

I don't think it has to do only with OE. When sending a "test" to a friend, I copied myself. When I received the message the images were there but she didn't get icons. So I tried it again and this time I typed the little emoticons in. That's when I got really confused. The test message to myself showed the icons.

When I send a test message with emoticons, I have no problems to see them.

    Hi broni,

If you are able to view the smiley emoticons as graphics, then I would say that the problem is with the OE recipient.

Are you satisfied this is the case, or do you still feel there is a problem?

    Ramona :D

    Hi, Ramona.
    Thanks for coming in.
Yeah, I believe, it's a problem of that ancient tool, OE users....LOL. I tested it on three people...same thing.
An additional proof. When they respond to me, including my message, I still can see my emoticons, as images, with no problem.
