I am an IT Tech for my organization. Our primary e-mail client is Netscape Messenger. I have a user running Netscape 7.1. I just reinstalled his Netscape 7.1, and recreated his e-mail profile. Our primary mail server is an IMAP server so all of the users mail is stored on a mail server. His copies and folders settings is set to save copies of all sent mail to his Sent mail on the mail server. Our mail clients are also PKI enabled for sending digitally signed messages using a Smart Card.

This user is having periodic problems when sending signed messges in that when he clicks the Send button and then enters his PIN number for his Smart Card, Netscape will pop up a box that says something like Netscape has encountered a problem and needs to close. It is that standard MS box that asks if you want to Send or Don't Send. When he clicks OK, it closes completely out of Netscape and he needs to go back in.

I have completely removed Netscape from his PC and reinstalled it fresh. I have completely re-built his e-mail profile with a new pref.js file. I have re-built all of the .msf files for each mail folder.

He is still, intermittently, getting this error when sending. If anyone has any ideas as to something else I can try to resolve this issue, I would be very greatful.

    Thank you,

    Lawrin Walker
