I have a customer who has a PII 350 MHz, 64 Mb Ram, Windows 98 Plus, and customer uses Earthlink to sign on to internet and uses Netscape Communicator 4.8 as browser. Apparantly when they try to browse different websites they get a Netscape.Exe error, as well as MSVCRT.DLL. Any suggestions??
    Thank You,
    Debby

    Welcome to the Forum, Debby!

    Hi Debby,

Have your customer try this fix:

    Close Netscape.
Delete the NETSCAPE.HST file and the CACHE folder. Netscape will rebuild these files/folders. The location of the Cache Folder and netscape.hst file:
    C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\username

    Next...
    Rebuild the Netscape REGISTRY:
    Close Netscape
    Back up all USERS folders

    Rename NSREG.DAT to NSREG.BAK
    Located in C:\WINDOWS
    Restart Netscape
Netscape will prompt for a new Profile. Give the exact name of the old Profile

This is usually the most successful solution when experiencing the netscape.exe error.

Post back and let us know if your customer continues to have problems.

    Ramona :D
