I am having difficulty connecting to my mail server with Netscape 7.2. Getting slower and slower. In the past I had a simular problem and the Sys Admin where I worked deleted/shortened/? the mail index file to fix the problem. I get large amounts of email and am concerned that my system will stop working as it did last time. No longer working at the same place and wondered if anyone is familiar with this problem and could recommend a fix/solution.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Steve

    Welcome to the Forum, s1owens!

    Steve,

Are you asking about your work station at your place of employment, and if so, is it on a LAN?

If the Sys Admin person at the last place of employment did some sort of hack for Netscape, perhaps your current IT person could do the same?

Anyway, if you keep all your eggs (e-mails) in one basket (one Inbox file), you are bound to have problems. You should start using subfolders to store old mail. My largest Inbox has fewer than 100 messages. and, I have a zillion of subfolders, or folders.
This is beside what Ramona asked.
