I have had an Netscape account for several years. Several Months ago while logged on to Netscape, I noticed when sending an e mail, by hitting send, I am asked to log on to email, (or go back to Netscape) and noticed my message was not sent. Going back to Netscape did not help. This has required that I copy my email, in the event it was not sent.If I'm logged on to Netscape, why do I continually have to log on in order to send email? Accessing email and sending is very erratic. I keep myself busy as a veterans' advocate and really don't have time for this. I advised netscape, and they gave me some garbage. I don't even like talking with them. Is it me, or is it Netscape, is my question. I have never had any trouble before, but these people keep fooling around with the system and these things happen. Which leaves me very upset.

There is no "Netscape" to contact, since it is part of AOL, and they have kept a support group.
As for your mail, have you selected, in your Server settings, to download your mail, and placed a check mark in the box which comes up when you login. If you place a check mark, you will not have to to do it again.
Of course, it depends on your ISP. Some ISPs are tougher than others to deal with.
You started by saying that you had a Netscape account for years. What do you mean by "Netscape" account?

    Welcome to the Forum, haiki!

    haiki,

If you are having a problem with the AOL Webmail, which once was the Netscape Webmail (@netscape.net) then as Westside noted, there is no more @netscape.net. You should have received an e-mail from AOL/AIM advising you of the changeover?

You can set up the account in any mail client. I have mine set up in Thunderbird, and it works very well.

All @netscape.net mail will be available from: yourusername@netscape.net
    to: yourusername@aim.com.
You will need to set up a new account in your mail client, which is:

    yourusername@aim.com
    IMAP server: imap.aim.com, port 143

AOL lists the below SMTP settings, however I use my ISP SMTP settings for sending @aim.com mail.

SMTP server: smtp.aim.com, port 587 (authenticated with your username)

So if you did set it up as AOL recommended, then that is why you are asked for your username when sending. If this is the case, then remove the AOL SMTP setting and let your ISP SMTP handle the outgoing mail.

As Netscape 7.x is now obsolete and no longer owned by Netscape, then you may wish to considering moving to Firefox and Thunderbird, which will now be the focus of Mozilla.org. Firefox is an excellent standalone browser, and Thunderbird, the recommended standalone Mail Client which will run concurrently with Firefox.

We will be more than happy to help you make this transition...
