All of a sudden, Netscape 7.2 looses connection with my cable. When I try to reach a website or pick up email, nothing happens. I close Netscape and reopen and I'm back on line. But it's annoying and it often drops the connection in the midst of writing an email! We have 2 networked computers and only 1 computer has this problem.

I have had cables for over five years, and never had such problem with any Netscape. It would, definitely, be annoying. How are you connecting to the internet? I set my Proxy settings to Direct connection to the Internet. SOCKSv5
is grayed out, but it is possibly used.

    Connections

Both computers have the same connections. Nothing has changed except that one keeps dropping off. If I keep IE running also, it does not drop off. Only Netscape. The computer shows that I'm connected but Netscape stops working. I don't have to reboot or reboot the cable modem. Just close and restart Netscape. It's frustrating!

I have no idea, but can you switch the connections from one computer to the other? Also which operating system do you have, and do you have at least 128MB RAM on the problem computer. If you have added some new software, make sure that it did not make itself part of the startup. If you have 128 RAM, even one new program would be a problem. The last two programs I installed placed themselves in the startup. I did not not know till I saw them in the systray. Now IE gets first crack at the computer resources, so it is not as likely to drop off.
But, it depends on the programs which you have on startup. Look at Start|Run|msconfig|startup.
Your problem is not likely to occur with Win2k or WinXP.
