    Hi,
Does anyone know if Netscape Navigator 4.08 ( n32d408.exe ) is compatible with Windows XP Home Edition?
    Thanks

jslow: I just got a new computer this week with Windows XP on it and I installed a hard copy of NS 4.5 on it in order to download v. 4.79, which I've been using since and it's worked fine. Those versions aren't the 4.08 you asked about, I know, but I would expect the results would be the same. You could give the 4.08 version a try and get back to us and let us know the results. Or maybe someone else will submit a post who's had experience with the XP and NS 4.08 combination.

    Good luck!

Using NS 4.79 for good six months with Xp Home Ed.
Works like a charm! Better than IE 6.x any day.

Netscape 4.08 is not recommended, unless you only want the browser. It should work fine under Windows XP but might need a few small configurations.
(I've tested Netscape 4.02 standalone under Win2000 and WinXP, working fine.)

    Hi everyone,
Thanks for your replies. We were just looking for a back up browser to IE 6 in case we have trouble with IE6.
    Thanks again
