I have a cable connection to the internet on a laptop running windows ME, and after installing netscape (4 and 7) it fails to connect to the internet.
Is there some setting that is missing?
IE connects to the internet ok...

    Welcome to the Forum, Mickeysoft!

    Hi Mickeysoft,

Do you get an error when you click on the Netscape icons, and if so what is the error? Give us as much information as you can.

You may need to check your proxy configuration settings located at:

    Netscape 7:
    Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Proxies

    Communicator:
    Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Proxies

Ensure that you have "Direct Connection to the Internet" selected unless you really do have a proxy setup.

If you use a fire wall such as ZoneAlarm or a similar program, temporarily turn it off to see if that allows you to connect.

Use the WINDOWS "Find" tool to search for HOSTS (no extension). If found, rename to HOSTS.BAK. Ignore HOSTS files that have an extension. See if this allows you to connect.

Keep us posted on your progress.

    Ramona :D
