    Hello...
When I'm trying to install the latest 8.1 version, I'm getting this strange message:

"Netscape will not run on this verson of Windows. This version of Netscape runs on following operating systems:
    Windows 98, 98SE
    Windows ME
    Windows 2000
    Windows XP "

    I'm running Win2K, and Netscape 8.0
    Any ideas? Thank you.

I'm sure someone will be along with the technical information you need. I'm simply going to give you my personal opinion. I've tried every version of Netscape since NS 3.2... every, single version. In my opinion, NS has been buggy from version 6 onwards. Granted, nothing was as bad as 6 but then again, nothing was as good as NS 4.8 either. I had NS 8 and it gave me no end of trouble. It's the reason I'm no longer excited about anything from Netscape, including the long-overdue version 9. Who cares, really? We have Firefox. What more could we possibly want? It's up-to-date... fast... has great extensions... is open source... will always be updated and patched more quickly than anything from Netscape... so... why bother with anything else?

    Just my two cents.

I concur with James' conclusions. I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled 8.x about twenty times, mainly out of stubborness. Why would your Win2k not be the same as their Win2000, it beats me.
I would hold out for NS9, which should be available to the public in the beta form, soon. Or you can try to subscribe and post at http://www.ufaq.org/
