When I open Messenger a webpage opens in the open message window. For some reason it is a partial page, and it has headlines and links to various Netscape.com news and entertainment pages. I've tried a few prefs.js changes to get rid of it, as suggested on the Solutions page, but Netscape keeps deleting my changes. I'd like to get a blank box when I open messenger. How do I do that? Thanks.

    Welcome to the Forum, supecoop!

    Hi supecoop,

To rid yourself of that annoying window:

    Edit|Preferences|Navigator
    When Navigator starts up, display:
    Select "Blank Page "

    Home Page
Clicking the Home button takes you to this page
    Leave "Location" blank

    That should do it!

Thanks Ramona, I've been reading all your tips on my ISP site too. My question was about the Messenger window that shows up when I get my email. I seem to have gotten rid of it by deleting something that I cannot completly see. When I click Edit, Preferences the box that appears is only partial window and some items are only partially visible. I must have deleted the correct startup page for the mail window. I'll post a separate question on getting the window to be the proper size.
