This is very important. Tell us how you got to 7.2, i.e. what you had before it, if anything. Was it ever working right, or if you had an earlier Netscape how was it working. The information you gave is not very useful to diagnose the problem.

    gaftop1,
FWIW, the startup splash screen is nothing more than "eye candy ".
You can suppress the display , but NS will not load any faster.

the command line switch - "quiet" and "nosplash" work for starting NS from shortcut.

To suppress splash screen from a call, do the following.

    Create a netscp.bmp file with a size of 1 pixel X 1 pixel.
Place it in the same directory as netscp.exe.

This should supress the visual display of the splash screen, NS will NOT load any faster than before.

You can use Irfanview to adjust the size of the .bmp.

    Irfanview

    HTH

I guess I never understood the original question.
Even if the splash screen would slow you down, it would happen once when you load the program. I, completely, misunderstood the question. What I got was that the splash screen was coming up and that's it.
As the capt said, splash screens are eye candies, or irritants, as the case may be, or just to keep the user busy while the program is loading. You get rid of the splash screen, and you notice how slow the program loads.
