Hi guys, this is very strange but maybe it's part of my other PC problems (spelt out on the Win 2000 forum).

Yesterday for no apparent reason my main PC stopped accessing the internet through Netscape. It's networked to my second PC via a broadband router, and both the network connection and internet connection from the second PC are working fine (hence me being able to post here).

I can't see anything obvious that has been changed, although an AdAware and SpyBot search and destroy did find lots of problems yesterday.

All my preferences and server settings are as they should be, so nothing wrong there. I can still connect and transfer files via EDonkey (yes, yes, I know)

Would I be better simply to reinstall Netscape?

    Thanks in advance for advice,
    Jo

    Jo,

It appears that your problems stem from Hardware, and not software. I don't really see any benefit from reinstalling Netscape. It won't do any harm, as your Profile won't be disturbed, but I don't think it will help your problem...

    Why hardware?

Thanks for replying Ramona. What makes you think it's a hardware problem? My router is still working since I can still connect via other software so what do you think I should be looking at?

    Regards,
    Jo

    Jo,

    You stated:
That's what made me think it was hardware, since your main PC stopped accessing the internet thru Netscape...

As I said, you can try reinstalling Netscape, but if all your settings are correct, I don't see how it could help. No harm in trying, however.
