I was having problems with Netscape 4.79 (frequent shutdowns with "illegal operation" message) on my Aptiva (Windows 98). I upgraded to 7.1, but after I copied from the Internet (using Netscape) to a Windows file, I could no longer open Netscape (from the Desktop icon or from the Start menu). I reinstalled 7.1, and it worked -- until I once again copied, this time from a Windows file to e-mail.
    Netscape 4.79 still works.

    Welcome to the Forum, rar!

    Hi rar,

To the best of my knowledge, Netscape 7.1 is compatible with Word 2K. I am at a disadvantage as I don't have the application on my system, and have no way to try and recreate your problem.
I'm hoping that someone who uses Word will jump in and give you some feedback.

I wonder if you might be more specific:
Exactly what happens, do you crash, or freeze, etc. Could you post the error here.

Do have the latest updates for Word 2K? You can check here:
    http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/

and here is a list of the Word 2K Updates:
    http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/Default.aspx

    Also a list of
MSKB Articles on Word 2K + Netscape

In order to help we need as much information as possible.

    Thanks!

    Ramona :D

I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time to understand your question. Where exactly is that Word 2000 problem?
