I'm having problems on a Win XP machine with Netscape. It simply won't open. I click the icon and nothing happens. I uninstalled it and installed it again, still it won't open. I had to reinstall winXP because IE and WIndows Explorer were not opening (creating srtange errors). So after the reinstall, Explorers work but not Netscape.
The only page I found so far that tried to help had the following instructions (from home.att.net/~cherokee67)
"If Netscape won't start....close your internet connection and start Netscape. "
Needless to say, this doesn't help much, it's like saying, "if you're car doesn't start, get in your car and start it. "
Is there any better advice out there? Is there something I can actually do, or look at, a setting in windows I can change? Or will this machine forever be mysteriously w/o Netscape?
Thanks in advance for any help...this is really strange and frustrating.

    Welcome to the Forum, fear!

    Hi fear,

I guess I should have prefaced that statement with try to open Netscape offline...

Did you try the other workarounds? Deleting the listed files:
    localstore.rdf
    XUL.mfl
    Delete the chrome folder
    Disable Quick Launch
Check to see if GRE was also deleted when you uninstalled Netscape
Remove all Registry keys referenced for Netscape, Mozilla, mozilla.org, and GRE?

Did you try creating a new profile?

    Ramona :D
