Netscape 7.1 update

Hello:
I get an update notice for NS7.1,but when i click on it ,i get a message that "quick Launch" is active therefore NS stays in the background ???
I only use Netscape as default search, do i even need/want 7.1 ???

Hi MIR11,

For starters, what Version of Netscape are you using? You can disable the update prompt from within Netscape. But first, I need the Version you're using now.

Hi Mike,

I believe this is true in 7.0, 7.01, and 7.02:

Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Software Installation

Disable: Software Installation
Disable: Check for updates

That should stop the "update to 7.1" dialog.

I don't have any of the above Releases on my system, and the location of specific Preferences occasionally moves...

Let us know if you continue to have problems.
