    Ramona,

Netscape has started giving me headaches once again. For some reason while browsing, the entire browser just closes! It especially happens when i'm signed on to AIM. At times, when buddies sign on or off, it closes the browser. It also closes while i'm simply browsing the net.

None of this happened until I reformatted and reinstalled everything. What could have happened? All of my drivers are updated as is my WinXP Home.

    Any idea?

    Hi KennyV1967

Any remote possibility you have AIM installed, which is the "stand-alone" version and NIM which is the Netscape 7's "integrated" version of AIM. They will cause problems when installed on the same computer? BUT I've never read anywhere that it would auto close the browser.

Dennis, I have just the NIM installed, the version that came with Netscape.

The way this shutdown occurs makes it seem like back in the 56k days where if you clicked around too fast, you would lose the connection. I am on broadband now but it just seems to be happening when their is a lot of activity going on at once.

    Hi Ken,

Is this the exact same shutdown problem you had HERE?

I was about to suggest a reinstall of the Sun Java plugin, but remembered (Wow, what a concept) that you had posted this problem recently, and had already done so...

    Hi Ramona,

This shutdown problem is different as it's happening while browsing regular sites that aren't Java. Like I said, it happens when AIM is running as well as when i'm just going from site to site. It's really strange! Today I haven't had one problem as of yet!

Maybe my PeeCee is possessed?? :)

Did you check your computer for spywares/adwares using "Spybot ", and "Adaware "?
Let me know, if you don't know where to find them.
A virus check is up to date?

    hi broni....

yep, i'm all up to date and scanned everything a few times already. it's coming up clear.

i'm stumped on this one. i may just try a clean install of 7.1 and see how that goes.

    thank you much...:)

One more question before you reinstall.
Are you using AIM which came with N7 install, or you had AIM installed independently?
