    Help appreciated! Cannot change preferences in "colors ", such as links visited. They all remain same. I really need it in my work!

    Help!

    On the same page you selected colors, choose "use my chosen colors....... "

    I couldn't change just the links colors either.

    Bmoore,

    Thanks! I don't want to change the total look of all websites.

    Not being able to change "preferences" in the "color" category is definitely a problem. Never had a problem with any other version of Netscape!

    In edit/preferences/appearance/colors, are the colors set the way you wish, even after a restart of N7?

    Do you have an example of a site where above preferences are not used? All sites do not obey your color preferences if the site has already specified colors for visited/not visited links.

    Tranquilo,

    I use default colors for websites. I work on the administration side of a website, lengthy lists, and have always had my "visited links" in a red color because there is NO way to keep track of where I have been without that preference.

    I have had every version of Netscape previously and NEVER had a problem
    changing the "visited links" color.

    Also visit a particular message board and my "visited link" color has always shown which I have read. Not so with Netscape 7.0

    Until a solution is found, would this workaround help?

    Make a userContent.css (text) file and add the following lines, then restart N7:

    :visited{
    color: red !important;
    }

    The usercontent.css file is located in your chrome or us\chrome directory, which is in your N7 profile directory (there may be a usercontent-example.css file already there).

    Have you tried creating a new profile (as a test) and verifying the problem still exists?

    Thanks Tranquilo!

    I am going to try both! One at a time, of course!

    Will let you know how I make out!

    Hi Tranquilo!

    I'm baaaaack!

    Took your advice and created a new profile. Got all my 2500 emails in, bookmarks, and addresses and my "links visited" color works fine........

    Have so many emails that I HAVE to keep for my work! 87 countries involved!

    Thanks again! Too bad "import" doesn't work for ANY version of Netscape!

    Happy as a little lark!
