    Hi,
I've been trying Netscape 7.0 and really prefer the way bookmarks were handled in ver 4.7 (I've looked at previous posts and answers... Good stuff..thanks!)
In 7.0, when you click on bookmarks, it goes to one long, scrolling column..which I find to be a pain! In 4.7 if your bookmark list was long, it automatically went to multiple colums. I want my 7.0 bookmark list to go to columns!
I haven't been able to figure a way out, but I'm hoping that there's a way!

    Thanks!
    Ken

    Welcome to the Forum, kendawes!

    Hi Ken,

I want my 7.0 bookmark list to go to columns!

Me too, Ken, in the worst possible way! I'm hoping this applet will be improved in future releases. In the meantime we will just have to grin and bear it! ;)

You might try creating multiple folders in specific categories, which will help in determining the length of your list.

I have not been a Netscape user for a longtime-back in the days of v4.7 I used to use it a lot.

Have loaded it onto my system and it would appear to be like Internet Explorer with a folder system now-if you look at the My SideBar or BookMarks/Manage Bookmarks and you will see that you create new folders. So you create the folder and then have all the say Medical links in one folder as files. Then all the Computer sites could be in another folder and so on.

If you go the Help Section on your Netscape and do a search on Bookmarks it will explain the system to you.

Fortunately N7 and Mozilla are not like IE. The individual bookmarks are still stored in a single file, bookmarks.html, located in your profile directory. As you have seen, the bookmarks can be arranged from the sidebar or by bookmarks menu/manage bookmarks.

Even N4.x had the ability to create new folders while managing bookmarks.

    ;)
