Does anyone know how to perform a silent uninstall of Netscape 6.2?

The uninstall command in the registry is:
    C:\WINNT\N6Uninst.exe /ua "6.2.3 (en) "

I would assume it would be a command line switch.

    Any Idea's?

    Thanks

Also, does anyone know of any way to programatically set up helper applications in Netscaep 6.2 and 7.0?

    Welcome to the Forum, mtq82814

    Hi mtq82814,

Sorry, I wouldn't have a clue as to a "Silent Uninstall" configuration. I ran the setup and looked at the config.ini file in the Temp directory. I couldn't see anything in the Uninstall that would give me a clue. Perhaps someone who is more adept at this type of hacking will be along to help you. If not, I would ask this question on the Netscape 6 Newsgroup:
    snews://secnews.netscape.com/netscape.netscape6.windows

To get information on setting up Helper Applications, press F1, scroll to:
    Customizing Netscape
    Navigator Settings
    Navigator
    Helper Applications

This may sound like a stupid question but what is the purpose of a "Silent" uninstall?
    Cheers

A silent uninstall or install is a procedure that doesn't ask any questions. A screen my pop up saying Installing, but it doesn't ask where or what components to install it just puts it on the computer.

I have been tasked to create an install that uninstalls Netscape 6.2 and installs Netscape 4.75. I would like the users to be able to do this with just one click of a button on a web page. The tool also will migrate the bookmarks. Using WISE I have created an install that will install 4.75 and migrate the bookmarks. I would also like to run the uninstall of 6.2. But I don't want the user to have to option to cancel the uninstall of 6.2. That's why I was looking for a silent uninstall.

This is because of a lot of issues we are having with Netscape. We have decided to go with IE as the corporate standard browser. And we won't support anything beyond Netscape 4.75.

A few months ago we put out a bunch of new computers and on the image we had placed Netscape 6.2.
