Netscape 6.2 mail appears to have a 30 second delay when sending mail. This happens to my wifes computer on the network also and she is using netscape 4.7 thru a proxy connection. Using Win Xp.javascript:smilie('')

    Hi Bob,

I confess to never having used the Netscape 6.2.1 Mail feature. However, in order to recreate your problem, I sent an email. I don't go thru a proxy, and have a DUN connection (36,000bps today). I had a 40 second delay? Things that make you go hmmmmmmm! [IMG]

I am trying to get some information on this delayed "Send ", and will post back anything further that I learn.

    Hi Bob,

    From the source:

I am trying to help a user who is experiencing a 30 second day when
sending email. I used Netscape 6.2.1 email for the first time today,
and I too experienced that delay, in fact, a 40 second delay. I have a
    DUN connection (36,000 bps).

My question: is this length of delay normal for Netscape 6.2.1 when
    sending email?
    --------

Not normal for 6.2.1 but can happen with a slow connection, high traffic
    and/or mail server ...
