Netmeeting won't connect to directory

Try as I might, I cannot get a login to Microsoft Internet Directory.
Does it still exist?? Also tried an ILS directory I remembered from years back. no luck there either..Netmeeting says it refers back to MSN Messenger--again a blank wall--Help!!

I wish they put a created or updated date on web pages since it's always hard to tell what is new information and what is old and possibly out of date.

 

Thanks Newt--something tells me that the old NetMeeting no longer exists and I'm wasting my time. It now seems to be tied in to ICQ Video which is great WHEN it works--
guess I should stop living in the past --lol

You didn't mention which version of Net Meeting you have. I Have V3.01(4.4.3396)....and have been using this and the earlier versions for close to 2 yrs. with some success.

You may not be set up correctly to connect to the Microsoft Internet Directory.

IN Tools/Options/General the Directory settings should show "Microsoft Internet Directory" and the "Log on to directory server when Net Meeting starts" should be checked.

Also in the past, if memory serves me correctly, you did have several directories you could log onto. So you're correct these are no longer there. But if someone you know has Netmeeting you can "Call" them and use video and audio, but you need an e-mail address, and their availability.
