hello, thanks for taking the time to read this thread, i've tried other forums so far with no luck... anyway.. i have a Netgear WGT624v2 with latest firmware 4.2.6, i have enabled portforwarding for port 3389 for remote assistance and i have UPnP enabled by default. I can request assistance thru msn and others can connect to my pc just fine, however when someone sends a request to me, i accept, and then it says "connecting to (name)" and just hangs.

now im pretty sure it has nothing to do with my pc (winxp pro sp2) b/e when i take the router out of the equation, it will accept and i'm in business. Someone asked me, "What it does if i enable the dmz server? ", which i've tried (setting the ip to the machine i'm trying to connect from), and still the connection process just sits there and trys to connect virtually forever.

if someone with experience with this router or with msn messenger remote assistance, or anyone else who thinks they could help for that matter, could lean me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

    thanks again for your time.

el_duderino_737 - welcome to the forum.

I'm not surprised that you haven't gotten any answers on other forums or on this one because it is a real toughy.

I've tried to figure out anything that could cause this specific set of symptoms while other things are working and so far, no luck. Other stuff should be failing as well from whatever is causing this AIM glitch.

I'll keep thinking and something may pop into my brain or maybe someone eles will have a clue.
