Windows Vista .Net framework error

    New update tonight from Microsoft updates for Microsoft .NET framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 and it will not install always produces an error looked at the various help routes but it still will not install (hidden update for now) anyone had a problem with this one?

    Curious. I just had that same problem. The help section led me to delete the download folder info and the datasomething folder after turning it off and then on. I checked my updates this morning and no problems installing the unpdate. Go figure.

    Yes, it seems quite a lot of users are getting the same errors, the next day I had updates again and it was back in the updates despite it being installed the previous day by using the Microsoft direct download, so I let it run and it installed for the 2nd time via Windows update with no errors, I presume it realised it had been already installed.

    It has gone away now, or will it be back.....

    Is that an MS glitch? I had a problem just the other day when I tried to open my Outlook mail and kept getting a window asking me for the network password. I never set one up to do that. After calling numerous places I ended up fixing it myself by clicking on REPAIR in the accounts window. Hmmmmmm.
