I get this error message each time i boot up:

"unhandled exception has occured in your application . . . "

It's a microsoft .net framework issue.

    Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the BBS,

I expect a program (the "application ") will be loading at startup and .NET cannot run properly.

Check in Event Viewer for more information on the error.

There is a tool that may provide more information:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/286350/en-us

The features of the .Net framework can be turned off by going to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off.

If you find the "application ", look for an updated version or try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

If you have trouble finding something in Vista, enter it into the search bar in Help and Support. Do a search for "Event Viewer" in H & S. To find it manually, Control Panel -> Computer Management -> Event Viewer. Open the headings in the left-hand pane. Read in the Help information, you can single-click and double-click on a listing to get more information.
