I recently installed .NET Framework 2.0 without removing version 1.1. I initially thought that like Service Packs, the newer version will overide the older version. Now in the Add and Remove applet, both version 1,1 and 2.0 are there. What is going on? Should I remove 1.1 now that 2.0 is there?

Ditto for me - I even have an additional entry for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886903).
If I highlight any of the three, the entry does give me the option to change/remove, however, .NET Framework 2.0 is the only one that has an actual "size" associated with it (88.36MB).
As Moboking inquired, can I just uninstall version 1.1 and the hotfix?

Hi ... I read somewhere that they ( 1.1 , 2.0 ) are both needed because they are for different things
