    Hi All,

I noticed when re-installing Nero, that it puts a program in the "HKLM | Run" registry key, "C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe ". What does it do and will it hurt to delete the key?

Also, I noticed that my Compaq laptop with Nero AND the XP native cd burning enabled, refuses to start until you disable the native burning. My desktop 'puter says nothing and allows Nero to start and run, but with problems.

    TIA!

    Russ

I don't know anything about Nero, however I do know that you can't run 2 CD burning programs at the same time without some major headaches.

Since you seem to prefer Nero, if I were you I would get rid of the CD burning software built into WIN XP.

Nero will coexist with the one built in to XP, with no problems.
Yes it is safe to remove that key. I always do.

I think you will find that XP's IMAPI and Nero not only work together, but that Nero will fail to run and give an error if IMAPI service is disabled. It should be set to "Manual ".
