    Hello,

    Here is the scenerio....

I had one excel file open and wanted to open another one. I clicked on File-save as- and saved the file with the same name and at the same location. It asked me whether I want to replace the file and I clicked 'yes'.

I was not attentive while I was doing this as I was on the phone. Finally, I realised that the contents of the cuurent file are manipulated one and I wanted to Undo them. I wanted to have the previous data and tried to Undo them but cannot.

Is there anyway I can get back my original file.

I have Win XP and Office 2000

Please reply soon I had very important data.

Eccentric - Welcome to the Board :)

I think the chances of recovering the file are very slight as you basically overwrote it. If Windows wrote a new copy of the file the old version may be recoverable so long as it has not been overwritten by other activity on the computer - the longer the time since you made your 'Save as' the less chance you have of recovering the file.

    Try File Recovery
