    Ok, here goes,

I do a lot of video editing and stuff, and recently it's clogged up the storage of my computer (both F and C drives). I have hundreds of music, video, and .prproj (a file created by my video editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro) files that need to be removed and stored ASAP. What is a reliable way to store large masses of files?

    AVI splitters

Does anyone know anything about AVI splitters? To solve a problem with moving large .avi's off my computer I would like to try it, but the websites I've seen them on look scarey, don't know a good one to try.

Hi Gail. Middle of the night for most of our regulars but probably some answers in the AM.

This isn't really an XP issue so I moved the original thread from XP to this section and merged your related topic about AVI splitters.

A number of ways you could consider ....

Install a second hard drive - the possibility of doing this depends on whether or not your F and C drives are partitions on one physical disk or two separate drives. If you already have 2 hard drives amd a couple of optical drives bypass this suggestion, although installing a SATA drive alongside a couple of EIDE drives is possible if your motherboard supports SATA.

    Or ....

Purchase an external USB/Firewire hard drive - most of the major disk drive manufacturers have these on offer in sizes up to, if not beyond 300 Gb.

    Or ....

Burn to DVD - single layer or dual layer - would need a DVD burner, of course, preferably dual layer.

You could also upload them to a site like Mega Upload but that would take a long time to upload unless you got a good connection. Oh, and it's free.

we have two hard drives, pretty near full on both, that's the problem right now, we already burned the "movie" version to DVD, just want to store and delete all the parts of the adobe project to make room for the next project, among other things. Okay, thanks about the other suggestions.
