I am looking for a way to block certain websites and the use of proxy servers to work around this block.

I have used the HOSTS file to block MYSAPCE but if one goes to a proxy server website they can still access this page. Being as it would be next to impossible to list every proxy website in the HOSTS file, is there another way to do this?

I have looked into PAC files at http://ericphelps.com/security/pac.htm and followed these instructions but must be doing something wrong.

    Please pass on some advise.

Try using OpenDNS servers as your DNS. If you have static IP, you can manage the web sites directly blocking or unblocking certain categories of sites.
