Need to re-install network adaptor each boot

    I'm working on a Sony VAIO notebook running Vista that will not connect to the wireless network until I un-install the network adapter at which point the network adapter gets re-installed and I'm able to connect. Each time I boot I have to go thru this.

    Vista Home Premium 2006
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Adaptor

    Networking is not my area of expertise, but you will find a lot of threads on the subject here one of which suggests that SSID must be enabled - I wonder if it is on your setup.
