Need suggestions for home budgeting/accounting program.

Hello to all!

Just wondering if anyone could suggest a "simple" home budgeting/accounting program? I'm looking for something that I could enter in monthly expenses and income. Would like it to be able to keep a "running" total for each.

Is there such a thing? Something that wouldn't be too costly, yet easy for a beginner such as myself!

I do have the "Excel" software on my computer (was already pre-loaded on this computer when I purchased it), but there are no instructions on how to use it (and I'm not sure if that would even do what I want/need?) It almost scared me though, when I opened up the program just to see what it was!

Any suggestions would be very helpful!
