I upgraded to win 2000 from win 98 but now there is no sound coming from my external speakers. My PC is an OEM. According to a pc scan from CNET, their advice is to get a new sound card for the PC but I am determine to find a driver first.

Where can I find a sound card driver compatible with win 2k?
Here is some info I obtained from Driver Detectine scan:
    File Name: sound.drv
    Description: WOW SOUND Driver Module
    Company Name: Microsoft Corp.
    Versio: 3.10
    Creation date: December 7, 1999

On the other hand my PC's Hardware profile and the Control Panel settings gave me this piece of info about the sound driver:
    Legacy Audio Drivers
    Audio Codecs
    Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device
Device type: Sound, video and game controllers
    device usage: enable
Device Status: Device is working properly.

There are many sites on the Internet that host windows based drivers. You just need to get the type of sound card you have, and I'm sure you will be able to find a Win2k based driver for it.

Try this site, it may help.
