My problem that I'm having is everything in firefox/IE are pushed to the left side of the page. I go to google and yahoo and anything I click on It redirects me to something else not even closely related to what I wanted to go to.

And I have been having weird problems with my antivirus/antispyware programs as well. Sometimes when I try to run a scan they will just shut off right away without even doing it or just give me an error. I was able to actually get a scan off them tho and they found nothing so I'm really confused right now on what the hell is causing this. It's also blocking certain sites. I was amazed I was able to come to this one for help. Every other message board I tried was blocked. I'm am at a complete loss as to what is going on. And not sure if this matters or anything but when I have sygate firewall up and running I have like 50-60 or so SVChost.exe things running it says... Anyways, here is my HJT log, hope it shows something.

I forgot to also add that I have also asked over on the Gamefaqs board: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=2000111&topic=45342127 and I have not gotten any response from there yet. I forgot to add this, sorry.

    Hi opticpain
    Welcome to windowsbbs.

We can not work logs in two different forums. So if you are receiving help here please post on the other forum that it can be closed.

First you need to get rid of 1 of your Anti virus programs. You can have only one running on your system.

    Symantec
    Avast4

Your choice on which one you remove.

    Now please do this.

    1. Click noahdfear's Rename ComboFix.
    2. If it launches a file download dialog for download_file.exe from noahdfear.net, click Run.
    3. download_file.vbs file should appear on the desktop, and shortly there-after a renamed copy of ComboFix.
    4. Please note that the vbs file is recognized by some security programs as a Trojan-Downloader.JS and may try to block it. I assure you, the file is safe. So please allow it.
    5. If successful, double click the renamed ComboFix and follow the prompts.

Please post the log if you can get one.

    Thanks
    Geri

I thought I got rid of nortons a while ago but I guess not completely. Now it should be fully gone and I have closed the other topic on the other forum.

I have tried to do the nohadfear's rename combofix but it keeps saying: c:\Documents and Settings\Opticpain\Local Settings\Temporary internet files\content.IE5\4t5mm3fw\download_file[1].exe is not a valid Win32 application.

Now I have no clue what that means and it wont let me use the program. :(
Oh and by the way, thanks for helping with this. It's really becoming a pain.

    Hi
It looks like you are trying to download and save it.

Please try again and make sure that you click RUN or (Run this Program now) in the download dialog box. do not save it.

Yeah, that's what I did the first time, I downloaded it and saved it, and then I tried to use it and it gave me a similar message. Even now though I hit run and all it does is gives me that long message I mentioned. So I tried both ways and still nothing. :(
