On my computer, new windows open and are all the exact same size (app. 1/3 of the size of the monitor). I know that you can, after opening a window, resize it, and it will remember that size and location on the monitor for quite a while. That's not my problem. I want to find the setting in the Registry that forces all windows that are opened for the first time, to open to the 1/3 size of the monitor, AND CHANGE THAT SETTING TO HAVE EVERY WINDOW OPEN TO ABOUT 1/12 OF THE SIZE OF THE MONITOR.

I have set the look back to the Classic look, and I have windows open in separate places, so at certain times I may have 8 or 9 windows open at one time moving or coping files from one to another.

I know I can resize every window, but I don't want to have to do that. If I could have them open in the first place smaller, that would satisfy me.

I have searched and searched in the Registry for that setting, but can't find it. It may be one of those really long number files, or it may be so hidden that it can't be accessed.

If you know the answer, please let me know.

    Thanks, Paul

I don't know the answer to your question right off hand but you can resize all open windows to the same size in just a click or two. When you have the windows open, right click on the taskbar and select either tile windows vertically or tile window horizontally. Doing this will resize all open windows and put them in a tiled order so that you can see them all at once.
