I want to make a shortcut for OE6 folders such as Inbox and Sent. Well, actually, I want a pathname for the custom folder that I move some of my Incoming messages to that is in the same tree.

When I check the Properties on the drop down for any of the above it shows:

Documents and Settings\Robert\Local Settings/A ...... (balance is cut off)

I looked in Application Data and Apps but couldn't find any of the above folders regardless of how far I moved down the tree.

How do I find the true pathname?

In Outlook Express, click on Tools>Options, go to the Maintenance tab and click on the Store Folder button. That will give you the complete path to the location of all the .dbx files (Inbox, Sent Items, etc.).

It's a hidden folder so you'll need to "unhide" it in Folder Options>View tab, check "Show hidden files, folders and drives," click OK.

    Miz,

    Wow, great find!

Now, what is the best way to open the dbx files so it looks like it does when you open it the normal way?

    Thanks,

    Rob

As far as I know, if you try to open one of the .dbx files, it just opens Outlook Express.

It's been at least a couple of years since I've used Outlook Express so someone who has used it more recently may be able to tell you more.

    Miz,

I found lots of dbx viewers, most $ some freeware.

I don't really want to add more software.

I'll live with what I got for now.

    Thanks
