Hey everyone, I was working on a very important and very long Word document when BSOD. It's my fault, as much as my pc's been acting up lately I should have been saving it periodically. Unfortunately it slipped my mind till it was too late. So now the question is, is there anyway to recover said document??? Would really appreciate any help on this one! Thanks, Brian

Until you save it to disk, it only resides in RAM (random access memory). And when a computer is rebooted, power to the RAM is temporarily interrupted which erases everything in RAM. :(

With that said, some programs can be setup to do an auto-backup every once in a while. If yours was, do a search for anything created within the last day and see if you can spot some type of a backup ".doc ", ".bak" or ".tmp" file.

Automatically save and recover Office files

Maybe too late for you if you did not have this set - my sympathies.

Hey guys, no worries! Did some online research and found out I needed to look in C:\users\<username>\appdata\roaming\microsoft\word
this is where the backup auto recover files are kept. It will be kept as a *.asd file. Just select to open it with word and wala, there it is. Thanks guys, Brian
