Ok, so I'm in my retrospective mood, and I wanna play this old game I played as a kid once. But I can't remember it's name and such.

    So here's some infomaliciouses:

The game was played on either a windows 95 or 98 system (most probably 95)

It was an adventure type game

    2D side-scroller

You played this little dude going through some levels with different environments and monsters (duh)

I can remember the first level had some grass in it (possibly some traps) I also remember one with a more rocky environment where you were supposed to get some eggs from some type of flying thing. Also there was an underwater level

When you didn't move for some time the character sat down and read a book and sometimes looked over the edge of the book and peeked around to check if anyone was around.

I'm not sure if it was a game included in the computer or something that the previous owner (my uncle) had added. But if it was there from before then it also came with some skiing game where you could do those skijumps and skiiing with shooting on targets (I want that game too but the main one is more important) and a type of car game I think.

I think the main character had a pinkish sweater and blue pants but I can't remember for sure. Also I think it was this 2D type of map like in Rayman and mario when you went to new levels.

Hope someone can help me get this game again. It was epicly awesome!

I'm kinda disappointed with this so-called "best Microsoft Windows discussion community on the web! "

I'm sure there are forums out there dedicated to old computer games that would be MUCH more suited to your question that here. These guys are genius when it comes to troubleshooting a computer/program/network etc... haven't heard much game talk on here though.
http://www.talk-gaming.com/ may be a better forum website to check out.

Well "A Wealth of Windows Knowledge" kinda doesn't exclude games. Knowledge of the games that came with the system is just as much knowledge than troubleshooting and all those things. I'm still disappointed. I'll check out that talk-gaming though.

We know all about the games that shipped with Win9x. Your description matches non of 'em.

Windows 95/98 included: Minesweeper, Solitaire, Hearts and Freecell

I guess that means the uncle who owned it before me installed it by himself.

Most likely. Also note that MS had several "add-on" packs such as Microsoft Plus! (Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95, Microsoft Plus! 98, Microsoft Plus! Game Pack: Cards & Puzzles), and I wouldn't know what games where included on these.
