My mom recently upgraded to cable modem. She was using Hotmail with her dialup and now has an e-mail acct. with the high speed provider. (Charter Communications). She uses Outlook Express. What she would like is when she logs onto Outlook Express to have it check both accounts. As it is she first opens Hotmail and checks for new mail through MSN. ( Charter uses MSN as it's home page provider) and then she has to open Outlook Express and check her Charter Acct. We can't seem to add the Hotmail to Outlook Express successfully. I know it is still going to be two separate accts. but it would seem you could check both when OE opens. I do this with moare than one acct although they are all Hotmail. She has called Customer Service at both MSN and Charter and the Charter guy came out and they couldn't figure it out. I can't be impossible, especially for the gurus on here! Anyone have any ideas....

    Thanks,
    Jim

Weekends are tough - lots of the regulars are elsewhere. Bumping this back to the top.

To add the Hotmail account to OE, open OE and click tools>accounts>mail tab and then click the add button. Go through the wizard and when it comes to the "email server name" page, where it says "my incoming mail server is a" , select http. Then, where it says incoming mail server, copy and paste this line in:

    Code:
    http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
Somewhere along the way there'll be a line that says something like include this account when receiving mail. Make sure it's checked. Give it a try and let us know if it works for you.
