I have 2 devices that are currently unavailable. One is a removable HDD in a caddy, and the other is a CD-RW drive. Both are on the same IDE cable. Disk management does not list them but the Removable media\Physical locations folder below it does list them only they have a little red x on the icon. It also says they are NOT PRESENT. Can anyone help me with this? This is really urgent.

Have you tried unplugging and reseating the cable?

When you reboot, there should be one or more error messages in the event log dealing with the device issue. What are you getting?

It's fixed now thank god. I deleted the hardware from the list in the "Physical locations" folder and rebooted. Took about 5 minutes to boot up but started with all drives back again. Thanks for the reply though. :D
