Where do I find a FF add-on that will allow me to convert select desktop shortcuts to open in IE instead of FF?

    antik,

Thanks for the link and the cautionary note.

I'm going for the IE Lite which sounds safer.

Does the fact that you "removed" your post reflect on the above?

Just thought better of it. Not everyone is as careful as you.

    antik,

I successfully loaded IE View Lite but the instructions seem a little sparse.

In the Tools > Add On > IE View > Option it says:

"It has a right click menu item to open a page in IE ... "

When I look under Tools in a given website, there is no such item even tho the add-on shows Enabled.

    I'm using v29.0.1

Can you clarify how to use this add on?

When you right click on a link, the Right Click Menu opens with a line at the bottom:

    Open Link Target in IE

Left click on that opens IE to the linked page.

I'm using XP with IE8 and Firefox 29.0.1

If you have already opened the page in FF, right click on a blank spot and the Menu will open with this line at the bottom:

    View This Page in IE

    Hoorayyyyyy!

The right click on the link definitely does not show the above IE message but your suggestion about "right click on a blank spot" is a WINNER.

Thanks for your very successful effort,

    Rob
