Hi folks, hope this is the right forum. I tried to download Roxio Creator 9 and it ******* up both of my drivers for my CD-R/RW and and DVD-Rom. I found the driver for the DVD but have search for the last couple of hours trying to find the driver for the CD-R/RW. Do anyone of you kind folks know where I can find "Samsung SW-240B. "

The Computer is a Dell Dimension and I am running XP OS.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Lorreeen, If you have System Restore enabled, perhaps that would save you some grief. Do you? It could return you to a point before you made the DL.

Right click My Computer > Properties > System restore > and away you go.

I suggest using this to reset the upper and lower filters.

Optical drives have not needed specific drivers since the mid 90's. They run off Windows' ASPI layer drivers. ASPI drivers are modified by burning software. Do a Google search for ASPI and the version of Creator.

Look at the Roxio website for FAQs.

Install or reinstall the burning software you wish to use instead of Creator. You may need to uninstall all traces of burning software (I've had those problems other versions of Windows, not XP).

    Driver Download Sites

    For driver download sites:

    www.drivershq.com which is a library
A service which scans your computer and gets most of the current drivers is
    www.drivershq.com

I am surprised that a DVD drive would require a seperate driver especially with Windows XP. Are you sure that you need the drive and it is not an issue of either a non working drive or a loose cable ?

Hi guys. OK fresh eyes this am allowed me to follow Mattman advise. Changed registry and all is back to normal. Apparently the problem was when I was asked if I would like to delete "Easy CD Creator version 5.01" I said yes and consequently it corrupted the drivers. YUK!!!!!! Anyway, thanks to one and all for your help. Before I install Creator 9 again I will thoroughly read what Roxio has to say. Lesson learned.
