    Hello,

Would someone advise me on where the zipped files are stored when you open one without really unzipping it to anywhere?

What I mean is in Windows Explorer, when you click on a zip file, say a zipped video file for example, it opens up another window to show you the content and lets you access to the file directly without having to unzip it to somewhere first. Thus, I suspect this file must be stored temporarily somewhere in the C: drive (not in the temp folder, I checked). I realise that my drive space in C: gets lesser with each zip I access directly. Where can I delete these files, if what I'm saying is true? I'm running out of drive space. I only store windows files in C:, any other files are all stored in other drives so there's no waythe C: space keeps shrinking without any files added to it.

Please advise on how I can resolve this? Disk Cleanup is not helping much.

    Thanks.
    Eleven.

    Hi 11 - and Welcome :)

I suspect you will find them lurking in :

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Temp

The easiest way to safely delete them is to download and run EasyClean 1.7

Run only Unneccessary files and delete all it finds.

For a really good clean up of your system follow the plan laid out in Mike's (mflynn) post here

Note: In my experience entering HELP in the EasyClean Registry Clean skip box does not prevent Windows Help from being disabled - there is a registry fix FixWinXPHelp.reg Something to do with a Win XP bug.

This clean up regime is thoroughly recommended - and works quite safely.
