    Hello,

I just stambled on the 'nComputing L200 PC Expanion'.
Did I understand its function right? I mean, can many users log in into one single computer with different users login and do different things at the same time?

    Pls advise.

    Thank you

    NComputing

(I am with NComputing). Yes, one easy way to think of the NComputing solution is that we allow your XP user accounts to be used simultaneously. The product includes virtualization software plus the access devices that each user's keyboard, mouse and monitor plug into. The most recent L-series are the L230 and L130, with some enhancements over the model you read about. Also available is the X-series. The X-series cost less and do great with multimedia, but the users have to be within 10 meters of the shared PC.

    And why is that?

The L-series uses IP across standard Cat5/6 cables so it is switchable and routable with virtually no distance limitation. The X-series uses standard Cat5/6 cable but with a proprietary protocol. This allows us to get a full PC experience to the end-user (no lag or degradation of performance), but the tolerances are so tight that the cable length must be limited. It is ideal for workgroup clusters like classrooms, libraries, Internet cafes, etc.
