I can't figure this one out. I have upgraded from 6 to 7 and now I cannot save any bookmarks or any other settings though email addresses are saved. I can save bookmarks while in a session but if I shut down navigator, when I start it back up nothing has been saved except for email and email adddresses. I sent for and received the cd and reinstalled thinking that would solve the problem but it is the same thing. In fact, many times some words will not show up in a window while reading a page such as this one unless I highlight the whole page. I am using win98se.

    sgrams,

Welcome to the board! Did you happen to do a clean install of 7, or did you install over 6? You may want to try a clean install to see if it helps. You can find the instructions here.

Thanks for the reply...I guess I am a little apprehensive about going into the registry...before I wrote in I looked around this board and I did see those instructions...I guess I will have to do the registry deletions because any other uninstall does not seem to clean everything out...it will be a few days before I can do this, I will let you know how it goes...

    sgrams,

Just check and double check before you make final changes. It won't be as bad as you think. You will do fine! Look forward to hearing good news when you post back.

...well, it required two attempts but it now works...I was forced to download Netscape as the Nestcape cd had two corrupt files on it and wouldn't work...Now, my bookmarks are saved and mail is working properly but on some pages such as this one while I'm typing the words I've typed disappear and reappear...this has been happeining since my upgrade to 7.0, I must need a patch or update? have you noticed this? Thank You for all the help you've given so far...just to have Netscape mostly working is a relief...I was almost going to try IE...shame on me...

    sgrams,

Glad to hear that your problem is alittle better. Not sure what to tell you about the type. I haven't run across that problem before. Have you tried closing other programs to see if that helps? Using Ctrl-Alt-Delete, I would close programs one at a time. Maybe there is one that causes this problem. Sorry, that's the only thing I can think of right now. Let me know if you find out what it is.

    Mike

By the way, what are your system specs?

I closed all running programs one at a time as you suggested except for explorer but the type problem doesn't change, this is a strange thing, but at least now I can surf around and use the net. My machines specs are: w98, 196 mb ram, k7s5a mb, 950 duron. I don't have any such problems while typiing in MS Office or other word documents such as wordpad. Please excuse any delays in responding as school is keeping me busy...and Thank You your help and suggestions.

    sgrams,

Strange problem indeed. I was hoping that there was a program conflict there. Thanks for your system specs. You shouldn't have any problems there. I shot a message to Ramona, the Netscape expert here, to see if she would pop in for a suggestion or two. In the meantime, I will try to find something for you.
