I downloaded 7.02 and installed it and it killed windows XP Home Edition. It won't uninstall. I mnaged to do a recovery and get XP back to where it was a few days ago but there's definitely still something in the system because it takes forever for any application to load. AOL takes about 5 minutes now. I use IE as my browser and it also takes forever. When I tried the Netscape UNINSTALL it said that it couldn't find a LOG file and then just died.

    I desparately need help!

    Thanks,
    Mick

    mkless,

Welcome to the board! The first thing I would do, and you'll probably cringe over this, is to reinstall Netscape 7 over itself. The download must have been incomplete to not give you the uninstall option. After you reinstall, reboot and try uninstalling it again. If you can uninstall, then go to this page and scroll down till you see the part about registry entries. I would check to see that those entries are gone.

If you get everything out and things still run slow, post back. If it doesn't help, let me know. I have Netscape 7.0 install on my XP system with no problems. What are your system specs? Do you meet the minimum requirements for 7?

    Mike,

You are GOD!!!!! I actually had already reinstalled again so that I could uninstall. I then did the regedit but missed a file in the document that you provided the link to below. I also did not know that there was a mozilla folder in the Application directory. I deleted that subfolder, rebooted and life is great again.

I was dreading having to reinstall XP and you have saved my life.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Best regards,
    Mick

    Mick,

You're welcome! Glad to hear that everything is back to normal without the dreaded reload. Enjoy.
