    dang

    Ramona,
Boy, I wish I'd of known that "delete the first account befor trying to change the settings" a week or so ago. I tried to change them everyway imaginable and some unimaginable ways. Needless to say I couldn't do it without deleting the other acc.
Which brings me to this question, Since you sound very knowing in this area.
I currently have both IE and MoZilla. I checked in Norton AV options, under web protection, and Netscape is greyed out. How do I un-grey it? (is ungrey a word?)
    IE is the default.
I figured I'd ask this time instaed of wasting a couple hrs. (well, actually, I asked the last time and no one told me that I had to delete the first acc. Thats why I am asking you.)
Thanks for taking the time to help if you can.

    Peace be with you

    Hi spookn,

Before we get down to the nitty gritty, I have some questions for you:

Which version of NAV are you using?

I checked in Norton AV options, under web protection, and Netscape is greyed out. How do I un-grey it? (is ungrey a word?)

I'm assuming you're referring to Email Protection options, right? Ungrey? That'll work! ;)

I have NAV 2001, and under Email Protection options there is a tick beside:
    Enable email protection
    Manually configured email client

Is this what you have enabled?

    From the NAV KB:
How to configure Netscape Communicator to work with Norton AntiVirus 2000's email protection
How to configure Netscape Messenger manually to work with Norton AntiVirus 2001 email protection

Have you configured Mozilla Mail as indicated in the NAV KB Article?

    Lemmeno,

    Ramona :D

I see what you're referring to now, when you mention "Web Protection ".

I found this NAV KB Article which may help, although it is the reverse of your situation. Have you enabled your Netscape browser plugin?

Microsoft Internet Explorer is not an option in Norton AntiVirus 2001 Web Protection

    Situation:
You are using Norton AntiVirus 2001 (NAV and have opened the Web Protection option. You want to enable Web Protection for Microsoft Internet Explorer, but Netscape Navigator is the only option that is available.

    Solution:
Browser protection, which must plug in directly to the browser software, is available only for Netscape Navigator at this time. Browser protection is just an added layer of protection that scans files as they are downloaded. As long as you have Auto-Protect enabled, when a downloaded file is saved or opened, it will be scanned. Make sure that you have the most recent virus definitions by running LiveUpdate frequently.

    Ramona :D

    EDIT 2/28/02:

The NAV Netscape Plugin doesn't work with Mozilla, neither does it work with Netscape 6. It will only work with Communicator.

    FWIW
