Hi, does anyone know the exact path or file name for the Symantec Systemworks 2000 "auto-protect" function? This is a component of the Norton Antivirus (NAV) portion of SystemWorks. Autoprotect used to kick in (automatically, natch) when I downloaded a file. Now I use a 3rd-party program called Fresh Download. It allows callup of antivirus app, but "nmain.exe" for Systemworks calls up the whole Norton Integrator window. In the Norton antivirus folder there are 2 executable, neither with "auto" or "auto-protect" in them. They are "Navw32.exe" & "nvlaunch.exe ".
But there's a bunch of .exe's in there. Anyone know which one is the one to auto-launch Auto-protect? (This is a w98se PC)(While we have a legit copy of SystemWorks 2K, that version is now considered "outdated" by Symantec & you can't email them anymore. Search of their "knowledge base" led nowhere.) Thanks.

Navapw32 is the auto protect program in Norton AV 2002.

Thanks, TonyT. Right after I posted (this always happens), I tracked down more shortcuts & stuff, and found "navapw32.exe" as you found in 2002. Reassuring to know my guess that this might be the right app, could be correct. I don't download much but next time we'll find out.
