when i start N7 for the first time after restarting my computer or starting it for the first time, dialog box pops up:
    Title: "Downloading navigator.xul "
    then it goes:
"You have chosen to download a file of type: "XML Based User Interface Language" [mozilla.application/cached.xul] from
    chrome://navigator/content
What should Netscape do with this file?
    Open using
    Save this file to disk
    .....
i have to close it, then Netscape will start

    Hi broni,

The navigator.xul error was one of the Netscape 6.x bugs, but was supposed to have been fixed in Netscape 7. I did find this at the Mozill.org site:

    http://www.mozilla.org/xpapps/progress/2001-12-07.html

    Bill Law (law@netscape.com):
    1. Resolved bug 101182 (closing progress window not canceling downloads).

    2. Enhanced window open time measurement scripts; now we can measure time to open alternative browser chrome URLs: measured window opening time of navigator.xul (1.040 sec) vs mininav.xul (0.125 sec). Since "fastload xul" work (aimed at startup time improvements) may not offer much help here (since we're loading new windows from xul cache), we need to find other sources of performance improvements for new window open times.

Thanks for posting the end result, and I will add this one to my Netscape Solutions page. You'll get all the credit, of course....

    thanks Ramona...
after trying this and that it apeared that a problem goes like this:
i close N7 for any reason...when i go to Ctrl alt del it's there...double click on N7 it won't allow me to open with my screen name saying that it can't open second window for the same screen name...i say OK...try to click Navigator from right click of Quick Launch, then that dialog window about "....xul" comes up....tried different options here...no help...disabling QL solved it
    couple more thoughts:
    1. instalation notes for N7 say about uninstalling ( "u may want to" what they say) N6.2.3 before installing N7 (they say 4.7 and earlier are OK to keep)...i didn't do it (settings, bookmarks, etc)....maybe I should....i don't care much now since everything seems to be working OK (QL disabled only)
    2. (seems to be connected to 1.) when i try to launch N6.2.3 it opens as N7
    Broni
P.S. let me know about your thoughts...u r professional...i'm just a guy with some thoughts
