    Start> Shutdown> Restart>Enter

A second or two "hang ", then a dialogue window (without a title bar) appears. Inside the box "iexplore.exe shutting down" with a progress bar. On completion, I have to re-enter command to re-start.

    What's happening? Thanks!

What could be causing 'iexplore.exe' to continually come up like this at shutdown? The only other information previously not listed is "if you close iexplore.exe now, you will lose all unsaved data "
(with a 'close now' or sit & watch the progress bar advance choices)

    reason

iexplore.exe was being flagged as a non-responsive shut down because of a 3rd-party program called Window Washer.

While it checked out as compatible, some code in Washer causes iexplore.exe to hang. Figuered it out after running my standard shut down tasks vs. not.
